Rocky Mountain High

“And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high, I’ve seen it raining fire in the sky.
The shadows from the starlight are softer than a lullaby.
Rocky Mountain high…” Music and Words by John Denver

“…raining fire in the sky.”

“…raining fire in the sky.”

“shadows from the starlight…” (Crested Butte, Colorado)

“Now he walks in quiet solitude the forest and the streams
Seeking grace in every step he takes
His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand
The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake.”

“…in quiet solitude the forest and the streams”

“…in quiet solitude the forest and the streams”

“…the serenity of a clear blue mountain lake.”

“…the serenity of a clear blue mountain lake.”

“It’s Colorado Rocky Mountain high
I’ve seen it rainin’ fire in the sky
Friends around the campfire and everybody’s high
Rocky Mountain high…”

This time there’s no campfire, but…

This time there’s no campfire, but…

Everyone spontaneously gathered to play, sing and enjoy the mountain air.

“And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high, I’ve seen it raining fire in the sky.
You can talk to God and listen to the casual reply.
Rocky Mountain high…”

I feel God’s presence in the majesty of the mountains, and I hear His voice in the quiet solitude of His creation.

John Denver’s song aptly expresses his (and our) love of the mountains. Since my family and I ultimately plan to settle somewhere in the Rocky Mountains, we have been checking out different areas and have even been looking at property.

Hummm, what would it be like to live here?

When I investigate a piece of property, I like to dig into all of its possibilities with all four paws. The family doesn’t always appreciate my enthusiasm.

Living in the mountains of Montana could be a very interesting experience based on what I have seen so far.

…until it was time to go back down the stairs. See-through stairs should be illegal! Going down was too scary. I needed help.

So many decisions! Should we choose a piece of property…

with a stream?

What did we decide? We decided to go sightseeing!

My, my Angel you are an awesome girl to travel that far and in high altitudes. My parents just returned from Santa Fe and the air is so thin at 7,000 feet it was hard to breathe in comparison to Louisiana at 134 feet. You trip is worth it. Be Safe, JJ
