Winter has come and gone…and is back again.
Normally at the end of April, Spring has sprung in most places. For example, in Denver the trees are already laden with fresh leaves, and tulips are blooming in the gardens. Yet, just 3 hours from Denver here in the mountains, the 9 feet of Winter’s snow has only recently melted. Even though blades of grass were trying to push their way up into existence, new snow has just returned. Actually, I am glad. Yesterday was rainy; everything was muddy and yucky! This morning with three inches of fresh snow blanketing the landscape, all was clean, white, beautiful and peaceful.
Weekly the landscape of our yard changed as the snow fell, became deeper, and then melted again.
Even though Vasser & I are retired, we still have a few responsibilities:
PLAYING & WORKING
To a sled dog there really isn’t any difference between playing and working.
Due to the weather, official tours discontinued in the middle of March. However, that didn’t stop our dogs from exploring new trails in the higher elevations just for fun.
As we finally move into spring and summer, we look forward to going on hikes and other excursions.
